The 2nd China-Central Asia International Conference on the Innovation and Cooperation of Agricultural Science and Technology
In mid-to-late October 2026, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (Western Center) plans to co-host the 2nd China-Central Asia International Seminar on Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation and Cooperation in Uzbekistan, together with multiple institutions including the Agricultural Knowledge Innovation Center under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State Agrarian University of Uzbekistan, Institute of Cotton Research of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural and Reclamation Sciences, Xinjiang Agricultural University, Xinjiang Agricultural Vocational and Technical University, and Ningbo Qiming Industrial Chain Information Technology Co., Ltd.
Central Asia is rich in agricultural resources but faces challenges like arid climates, inefficient irrigation, and outdated planting/breeding models. These issues hinder the release of its agricultural potential.
Aligned with China-Central Asia agricultural cooperation goals, this seminar focuses on core agricultural pain points, with the theme of "Technology Empowerment for Green and Sustainable Development". It builds a high-end cooperation platform covering policy alignment, technical exchange, and achievement transformation, focusing on cotton, specialty fruits, animal husbandry, saline-alkali land management, and smart agriculture. It aims to strengthen Sino-Central Asian agricultural cooperation, promote high-quality development, and safeguard regional and global food security.
